Join us on our wide-ranging programme of events

We run a variety of events throughout the year and you are always welcome to join us. Transport to the coach pick-up point can be provided if needed. A small fee to cover our costs is usually charged.

2025 Outings are as follows:

JANUARY – Oswaldtwistle Mill, Moscow Mill. 1hr 20 minutes travel time. An indoor shopping centre.

FEBRUARY – The Deep, Hull. 1hr travel time. Ticket lasts for 12 months. Carers need a staff ID badge or a letter on headed paper to enter free. A large aquarium. They have wheelchair and mobility scooter/s for hire on a first come first served basis. There is a café on site.

MARCH – Meadowhall Shopping Centre, Sheffield. 51 minutes travel time. Indoor shopping centre.

APRIL – Wentworth Garden Centre with Historic Gardens, Walled Garden. 45 minute travel time. There is a family farm, shop and cafes. There is an entry fee into the farm & historic garden.

MAY – Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum plus short visit to Pocklington. 38 minutes travel time. Burnby Hall has a tulip festival at the end of April and beginning of May. Good paths all around the gardens. Cafe and gift shop on site. Followed by a quick visit to Pocklington.

JUNE – Scarborough. 1hr 19 minutes travel time. Beach and Shopping.

JULY – Lincoln. 1hr 11 minutes Visit to the old part of Lincoln. It is flat. Streets are cobbled but footpaths are not. Lots of independent shops, Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle – entrance to grounds free. There is a ‘walk & ride’ bus 3 times an hour, free with your bus pass.

AUGUST – Buxton and Bakewell. 1hr 43 minutes travel time to Buxton. Buxton to Bakewell. 22 minutes travel time. Bakewell to Sherburn 1.32 minutes travel time. Buxton is flat. Potters is the place to go apparently. Has a crescent like Bath and lots of cafes. The old town is a tourist hotspot. Bakewell – similar but smaller, worth a visit. Very picturesque.

SEPTEMBER – Whitby and Thornton le dale. 1hr 30 minutes travel time. Whitby to Thornton le Dale. 32 minutes travel time. Thornton le Dale to Sherburn. 56 minutes travel time. We will spend 3.5 hours in Whitby then onto Thornton le Dale to spend 1.5 – 2 hours there. Thornton le Dale has tea rooms, Mathewsons Bangers and Cash showroom, there is a village pond with benches and a stream running through the village. Very picturesque.

OCTOBER – Boundary Mill. 1 hr 22 minutes travel time. An indoor shopping centre NOVEMBER – Tong Garden Centre. 35 minutes travel time.

DECEMBER – Christmas Lunch.
