About Sherburn Visiting Scheme
Local Charity Committed to Supporting Seniors
Sherburn Visiting Scheme is a local charity dedicated to supporting seniors in Sherburn in Elmet and neighbouring areas. With over 40 years of experience, our mission is to enhance the lives of elderly residents by combatting loneliness and fostering independence.
Over 400 people are registered with us, and our numbers grow every year. In Sherburn in Elmet and surrounding parishes including South Milford, Barkston Ash, Hillam, Monk Fryston, Burton Salmon, Saxton and Church Fenton, we are here to serve the elderly communities in Sherburn in Elmet and surrounding parishes.
We aim to help seniors by providing services and recreational opportunities which promote independence, lessen any feelings of insecurity associated with age, stimulate and widen interests and draw the over 60s into the wider life of the community.
We receive a small amount of funding from North Yorkshire Council but predominately rely on fundraising activities and the generosity of our volunteers to help run the charity. Join us in making a difference today.
