One of the services the Sherburn Visiting Scheme provides for our members is monthly trips to a place of interest. This month, Sherburn Visiting Scheme took our members on an Emmerdale Studio Experience trip which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Our members went on a fully-guided 80-minute tour around the exterior TV set of Emmerdale. In addition, they also received a photograph of them behind the famous Woolpack Bar to take home!
Sherburn Visiting Scheme got to see the makeup room where the actors get ready for their scene, Beauty and Bernice salon studio set, the Dingles’ famous living room and much more. Our members also had the opportunity to be the star of a short video on the couch in Rhona’s living room, which you can see on our Facebook Page.
Our days out and events are just one way we help to alleviate loneliness by providing services and recreational opportunities for members who would otherwise be stuck in their homes. Our members really enjoyed the Emmerdale Studio Experience and afterwards, we took our members to Bryan’s iconic fish and chip restaurant for some lunch.
The scheme is becoming under increasing pressure due to the increased number of people using the service and the retirement of some of our longstanding drivers. The need for new drivers is vital for the service to continue.
